On April 22, 2020, at 127 a.m., Terrell Police responded to a shots fired call in the 400 block of Greenwood. Officers were on the scene in less than one minute and were directed to a residence’s back yard where a gunshot victim was found.
Lifesaving efforts were already underway, but were unsuccessful. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Terrell Police Department Criminal Investigation Division and the Texas Rangers conducted the joint investigation. The juvenile detainment warrant was issued about 20 hours after the initial offense was reported.
The murder suspect was subsequently taken into custody, without incident, at about 10:00 p.m. in the 100 Block of Lovers Lane in Terrell.
Two other male juveniles, a 15-year-old and a 14-year-old, are also charged with Robbery, as it relates to the offense.
All three suspects live in Terrell and are enrolled at Terrell ISD.
Charged for their part of the offense, the two other juveniles were already in custody, detained earlier in the day.
Juvenile names are not being released in compliance with state law.
