Suspects Fleeing Sulphur Springs PD Crash Into Square and Cause Damage

by Hunt County Theft Reports

A driver fleeing Sulphur Springs Police Department officers crashed into a lightpole and planters box at the corner of Oak Avenue and College Street this morning.

The vehicle evaded police down College Street at a high rate of speed, according to witnesses. They then were unable to slow down enough at the four-way stop and crashed.

Multiple suspects then exited the vehicle and attempted to flee the scene. All suspects were apprehended quickly by law enforcement officers after a short chase on foot.

City officials came to the scene to assess the damage caused by the crash.

This is a developing story.
