Dallas Police Officer Shot At While Sitting at Traffic Light

On June 6, 2020, Dallas Police Department Officers received a call at approximately 6:45 p.m. about an active shooter in the 200 block of Glenview Court. Minutes later, another call went out about shots fired at the intersection of 175 CF Hawn Service Road and South Buckner.

A suspect, who was driving a white truck was headed westbound on the CF Hawn Service Road when he stopped at the Buckner intersection. A Dallas police officer, who was headed northbound on Bucker was at the traffic light. The suspect got out of his truck brandishing a weapon, then fired in the direction of the officer while he was sitting in his squad car.

The officer returned fire striking the suspect twice – once in the lower abdomen and once in the leg. Officers provided emergency assistant until DFR arrived and was taken to a local hospital.

The extent of his injuries is unknown but he is in stable condition.

The officer was not injured. It is too early to tell in this investigation if the suspect was involved in the active shooter incident.
