Greenville’s Bottle Rocket Bash Postponed

by Hunt County Theft Reports

GREENVILLE: On June 26, 2020, Texas governor Greg Abbott released executive order GA-28. That order amended the rules in an earlier executive order, GA-26. The new order bans outdoor gatherings of more than 100 people unless the Mayor of the city where the event is to occur provides special permission to hold the event. On Monday, June 29, 2020, the Greenville City Council met to discuss two upcoming events, the Park Street 4th of July Parade, and the City’s annual fireworks show the “Bottle Rocket Bash.”
After considering the comments of the Council, Greenville Mayor David Dreiling has determined that there will be no special permission for the Park Street Parade, and the Bottle Rocket Bash including the fireworks show, will be postponed to a later date. Given the language of executive order GA Dash 28, the Park Street parade will not occur on the 4th of July. A new date for the fireworks show has not been set.
