Boles ISD Postpones First Day of Class Due to 11 Staff Members Being Unable to Report Because of COVID-19

by Hunt County Theft Reports

From Boles ISD:

We regret to inform our high school students, staff, and parents that the return to in-person instruction will be delayed until Monday, August 31st. Out of an abundance of caution, this decision has been made to facilitate a safe and effective return to on-campus instruction for all students.
Our high school campus has faced an extreme hardship and will be unable to adequately meet classroom staffing needs for our students. We strive to maintain low student to teacher ratios, especially during a time where the spread of infectious disease is a great concern.
Currently, the high school campus has 11 staff members unable to report to campus due to a positive Covid-19 diagnosis, onset of symptoms, or close contact exposure. Staff members have not been in close contact with students and were not present on other district campuses. All classrooms and areas of concern will be disinfected and sanitized according to CDC recommendations.
The elementary and middle school campuses will open on August 17th and operate as planned.
Our high school campus will transition to remote learning on Tuesday, August 18th. Please refer to the district’s Remote Learning Plan by clicking on the Hornet Health Highlights button on the main page of the website, bolesisd.com. Most students have received their Chromebooks and internet hotspots if needed. However, the high school has planned additional pickup times for device pickup and schedule distribution on August 17, 2020. See below for detailed times:
Seniors: 8:00-10:00

Juniors: 10:00-12:00

Sophomores: 12:00-2:00

Freshman: 2:00-4:00
