Former Wolfe City officer Shaun Lucas will remain in jail on a $1 million bond after a judge denied a request for a reduction on Thursday.

Lucas was arrested for murder after shooting and killing Jonathan Price in October.

According to CBSDFW, “With his bond being set at $1 million, Lucas’ legal team argued the amount was “excessive and oppressive” and “beyond Lucas’ financial means.” The team asked the bond to be reduced to $200,000 but that was denied.”

Lucas was fired by Wolfe City PD after the incident.
